Just a first post to say I'm super-impressed with Sampler Box.... worked straight out of the box for me....using a Pi 3B+, Arturia Keystep and usb soundcard Terratec Aureon Dual USB... no display or dedicated MIDI h/w. I'm not really a pianist or keyboard player, but the Salamander Grand samples sound amazing on headphones.

I used a 16GB class 10 microSD card, I'm wondering if samples will load a bit faster from the partition on that than from a USB memory stick....

Webgui worked perfectly over WLAN.... which is super helpful because there's no way to send a MIDI program change from the Keystep...warning to anyone who buys one to use with the Sampler Box!

Thanks for a fantastic piece of work!!

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your kind feedback!

Load speed differs depending on stick or SD used, but both options cannot be blazing fast.
So currently your choice mainly depends on what you consider convenient.
On next release (expected before summer), the sample space on the SD should (..) be accessible when the SD is inserted in Windows PC, making using that somewhat more friendly.

Looking at Arturia Keystep specs, I'd say there is possibility to have ProgramUp / ProgramDown to be implemented via programming a midi-CC to a button, pedal or key. But this will be at cost of the Hold (or other) function or a keyboard key. Since you're using the webgui, I'd say the price is too high.
The Arturia seems be designed for use with a daw - requiring a PC which obsoletes need for buttons, knobs and drawbars.
Actually you replaced the PC & daw with samplerbox & tablet/smartphone.
If using a phone you could consider the "LCD" page of the webgui. It's smaller and mimics the button+LCD hardware mode, which may be more convenient on small screen. Archaic but practical on stage.
