Hello!!

I had successfully set a knob from my controller for "volume level",  Big Grin   but I would like also assign the "gain" parameter present in the general menu to another knob, I've noticed this parameter (0-300) is the one when set to value 10 or so, significantly reduces glitches or noise when playing various notes simultaneously. Since I use an amplifier when playing with band, doesn't seems to be necesary to have the gain parameter at 100, since a I can increase level from the amp itself for compensation... It's super tedious to pulse button like for 30sec or so, tu push down this param value only. Or may be if it's not posible to assign it to a controller knob, maybe set it at a fixed value of 10-15 .

Thanks in advance for any help !!!

Cris
Hi Cris,
There is no CC to assign to a button for gain.
I made the %%gain (for complete sample sets) or %gain (for individual samples) for this.
The idea is that you tune your sample sets only once to get the volume levels of all sets/voices all sync'd volumewise, preferably at the highest gain without distortion (play loud while using using a lot of notes). This way you can safely switch voice or set - no gain adjustment needed.
See More info -> Controlling the volume for more details and Configuration parameters for an explanation of %gain and %%gain.
For gain there is a discrepancy between the GUI+menu and the parameter values (there is factor x100 between them):
  • the GUI+menu range 0-300, with default (no gain adjust) of 100
  • The parameter ranges 0-nolimit, the default is 1, where 0-3 correspond with GUI+menu range 0-300. So the config parameter allows for values that cannot be set with the GUI+menu..
You may need a value below 1 (your post suggests 0.1 or 0.15).
Basically the only reason for gain in the GUI+menu is to be able to tune faster as the the sample set doesn't have to be reloaded for every test value.
Good luck, Hans

Hello Hans!! Great, I get it, so... only with writting the parameter "%%gain=0.1" in the samples folder, it should be enough for me, no matter what the GUI+menu says...it's like an override.
THanks a lot, man!

Not really an override but rather a pre adjustment, setting the base value.
You can see this as adapting the wav itself.
