Hi all,

I wonder what’s the community’s suggestion or opinion on a workflow managing samples in Samplism (a Mac app) and playing/sequencing on TouchPad Pro mk3. In between the two sits SamplerBox.

A few “restrictions” LaunchPad impose, as I understand so far:
LaunchPad assigns a midi channels to each of it’s sequencer’s 4 tracks. I want two tracks, or maybe 3 playing on SamplerBox, leaving one or 2 for hardware synth.
LauchPad can move the octave, or the semitone offset of the grid easily. It’s either a curse or benefit, depending on the viewpoint.

I’d like to browse though my sample collection in Samplism, having instrument single shots and loops both. Than drag and drop samples out to a  microsd card.

There are a few “fixed” collections, like the Piano or the Hammonds, that wold not be manipulated by Samplism, rather used as a whole folder on the micro sd.

I’m planning to write glue scripts to surround the dropped samples with the necessary config files.
However it's not clear what config the structure SamplerBox supports/expects at the moment or in the near future.

Hi,
I'm not familiar with the equipment and software you mention.
I assume TouchPad Pro mk3 and Launchpad refer to the same device and "the hardware synth" is somewhere else in your setup.

An option seems to define the launchpad as a multitimbral (see "more info" in the docs) and have a "silence wav" in a "silence voice" which you define as the ultimate default in the MTchannelmap. Next you define there only the channels you want be processed by samplerbox making the rest going to "silence".
Using this silence method avoids conflicts with voices in your set for other purposes, as well as a lot of error messages telling you the sample is not found.

As for the configs for samples extracted from other collections: I've done quite a lot and I don't understand your "unclear" statement.
For me the definition.txt is defined good enough to get it done.

Hope this helps, Noek
