Hello, I hope you are doing well. First of all, thank you for SamplerBox — it’s a fantastic and very useful project. I am currently trying to run SamplerBox on a Zynthian V5 main board. My setup uses SamplerBox together with an autosampler workflow, but unfortunately the official SamplerBox system image seems not to properly support the MIDI input/output of the Zynthian V5 main board. From what I understand, this may be related to differences in the hardware abstraction and audio/MIDI stack. The Zynthian V5 uses a custom main board with its own MIDI routing (via internal USB MIDI, ALSA configuration, and specific device naming), while the SamplerBox image appears to be built around a more generic Raspberry Pi MIDI setup (typically USB MIDI or standard GPIO-based UART MIDI). Because of this, the MIDI ports from the Zynthian main board do not show up correctly or are not accessible to SamplerBox when using the official image. I was considering an alternative approach and wanted to ask for your opinion: Would it make sense to install the standard Zynthian OS image, remove unnecessary components, and then install SamplerBox manually on top of it? Do you have any recommendations regarding:
Thank you very much for your time and for creating such a great tool. Best regards, Mello |
