Hello all,

I have just started with SamplerBox. I use A Pi 2 model B V1.

I have a problem with conecting to my network via WiFi. I have an RT2870 WiFi dongel that works fine with Raspbian. But it gives a firmware error when booting SamplerBox.

The Howto for WiFi is for the Pi3 as I understand, It is not working in this case. Sad

I need some help pointing me to A Howto for my WiFi dongle so I can connect SamplerBox via WiFi please. Big Grin

Hi Ernst-Jan,
It will be quite hard to get this activated I'm afraid as the underlying OS is quite old (=retired).

Main part of this samplerbox's fork next release is full a make over of the base system.
The new OS is based on Raspberry Pi OS (buster version), so if we're lucky support is out-of-the box and otherwise it will be much easier to add.
You may have to explicitly mention the RT2870 driver in the wifihotspot.txt.

I expect to publish next month. Please send me a PM if you can't wait that long.
regards, Hans

Hello Hans,

Thanks for your answer!

No I am not in a hurry. I don't even know if I need WiFi. I was just trying to get it all working.

I am verry pleased so far. The aim was to build this samplebox to get a nice piano sound from my Kawai VPC 1. No wissels, no bells, just that. And it works like a charm!

I will wait until the new version is there. This same Pi with raspbian works fine on WiFi so I expect it to work in the future.
Thanks for all the effort you put in to this project!
