Hi everyone, i am new to the samplerbox, and can't connect to my wifi router. I just inserted the said name and passwd for my router in the wifinetwork.txt file, but the router refuses to assign an IP to the samplerbox, so when I check with ifconfig my wlan adapter has an unreachable IP. am I missing some something? The sampler itself is working, I managed to play samples an to add my samples to the samples dir, but  I cannot access the webgui. Thanks in advance

Hi qhr33k,
Obviously you're missing something, otherwise it would work  Rolleyes
I am surely missing details in your problem description ("here it works"), so just some general remarks as a first shot in the dark:
  • it only works with PI's with builtin adapter. Using external adapters require extra setup
  • use a plain text editor, wysiwyg editors can screw up text
  • only update the proper section (with the protocol of your router)
  • only change the strings between quotes, don't fancy things up with nice spaces or tabs
  • mind upper/lower case
  • restart the box for getting it work
If that doesn't help, you may need to connect the box (either keyboard+screen or ethernetcable) to gather debug info - more on that if applicable.

Thank you very much for your quick answer, I am using an USB wifi adapter on a raspberry 2b. I got my raspberry connected to a screen and a keyboard, using nano to edit the wifi file. i get an error message on screen after the boot, "ieee80211 failed to request Firmware", it is probably the wifi adapter, but the wlan adapter shows up if i do ifconfig -a, the IP address is out of reach being 10.19.59.3. You know what: i can live without the webgui. Actually tinkering on the sample definition parameters. This sampler is wonderful and very powerful, i love it, congrats to the developers, thanks for making it available to the world, incredible i can have such a powerful instrument for the cost of a raspberry pi.
