Hi there,
I'm using Sbox20220206 build on a pi4b, with the pirate audio lineout.

I'm trying to load my own samples, and would like them to be a oneshot, so wanting to use the onc2 mode.

My problem is that i can use the example sample sets provided and everything works fine.
If i create a patch with my own wav and no definition file, it works fine. (i've tried just having one wav as middle C named "60" as well as a load of copies with different numberings. This all works, so i know there's not a problem with my wavs.

As soon as i create a definition file for my own samples, they show as "empty" in the gui. I've tried reducing them right down to a single line such as
%mode=onc2
and also
%%mode=onc2

and they stilll show as empty. But all the example patches i've tried work no problem.
I'm sure i'll explore the more advances features, but right now i'd just love to not have to hold a key down for the sample to play through. I'm using long samples - eg full track vocals, so 5 minutes long.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what my problem might be please?

been trying some more diagnosis...

"doesn't work" = shows as "empty" in the gui and no noise.

- switching the example wav files for any of mine in the example patch, and making no change to definition file doesn't work
- changing a transpose value in the example definition file, making no other changes - worked in WordPad, didn't work in NotePad. So only use WordPad
- using an example definition file in my patch folder with my wavs, and making no changes to the definition file, doesn't work.

This is a fantastic logic puzzle i'm working through, but i'd love any tips if anyone has any please!

have now deduced that if i load of my wav with no definition file, it works as before.

then, if i use the gui on my phone to add the following in the definition space (assuming it creates a definition file), the patch now shows as onc2, but it also now appears as empty.
%%mode=onc2

conundrum!
